Guide Dogs wants a future where everyone with sight loss can live confidently, actively and independently. Yet half of the 360,000-people registered blind don't feel able to leave their homes alone. Guide Dogs is committed to changing this by providing life-changing services.

Guide Dogs is best known for its iconic guide dogs, giving people with sight loss a unique way to move around safely and confidently. This vital service enables people with sight loss to go to work or out shopping and, ultimately, live the lives they choose.

But that's not all. Guide Dogs also has a range of other services, with and beyond its dogs. It provides specialised services for children, young people, families and adults. Its adult services include training volunteer sighted guides to take people with sight loss on social activities to help reduce loneliness and isolation.

Players of People's Postcode Lottery are helping support several major projects, including the lifetime funding of an entire litter of nine life-changing puppies!

These puppies are on an amazing journey. Currently, the puppies are living with their puppy walkers, who play a vital role in socialising them and teaching basic commands and life skills. Shortly, they will attend puppy classes and soon after that will begin specialist training to become confident guides. After graduation, they will be carefully matched to people with sight loss and trained together, ready to step out in confidence. Each extraordinary guide dog partnership lasts around eight years. Together, the nine puppies will go on to provide a combined 72 years of mobility and independence for their owners!
