Sistema Scotland

Sistema Scotland was set up in the belief that children can gain huge social benefits by playing in a symphony orchestra. The charity's Big Noise Orchestras work with around 2,500 children, ranging from babies through to teenagers, helping them to realise their full potential.

Established in 2008, Sistema Scotland is a charity on a mission to transform lives through music. Their Big Noise orchestral programmes in Raploch (Stirling), Govanhill (Glasgow), Torry (Aberdeen) and Douglas (Dundee) work with over 2,500 children, ranging from babies through to teenagers, helping them to realise their full potential through intensive and long-term engagement.

Sistema Scotland uses music to foster confidence, teamwork, pride and aspiration in the children taking part and across their wider community. Independent research has found that children's participation in Big Noise improves emotional wellbeing, enhances their ability to learn in school and helps children develop skills including listening, concentration, creativity and communications.
