Search Dog Heroes

Every year 250,000 people go missing in the UK. Children with special education needs and adults with dementia or mental health issues are some of the most vulnerable when they disappear. New specialist search dogs and scent bottle kits will save lives by finding missing people faster.

Scent bottle kits, with versions tailored for groups at the highest risk of going missing, will serve a dual purpose of educating carers about preventing people from going missing and prime them to react effectively if they do.

Together, trained search dogs and scent bottle kits will enable communities to respond better when a vulnerable person goes missing, utilising animals to help find missing people faster and save lives.
